The Model YP and YC strainers are made from PVC and CPVC respectively, and they are available with socket (YPS/YCS), SR Thread (YPT/YCT), or flanged (YPF/YCF) connections. Clear PVC is available for fluid visibility. Used primarily in PVC & CPVC piping systems, and to avoid corrosion.
These strainers are rated to 150psi @ 73F for sizes 1/2" to 2", and 90psi @ 73F for sizes 3" to 4". For Y strainers with PVC and CPVC wetted parts in diameters above 4", see our YFF Lined strainer.
The standard Y strainers are assembled with 1/32" perforation (20 mesh) PVC screens for PVC strainers, and CPVC screens for CPVC strainers. Optional perforation sizes and 316 stainless steel mesh screens are also available. A standard plug removes easily for flushing of the strainer or installation of a bleed-off valve. An optional magnetic plug traps ferrous metal particles inside the strainer. Either EPDM or FKM O-rings are availaible.
