The Model BCF is a carbon steel basket strainer can be used in applications for water, oil, gas, or steam where protection from foreign matter in a pipeline is required. The BCF1 is 150# class, and the BCF2 is 300# class. They are constructed from cast steel castings that have drilled raised face flanges that are in accordance with ASME B16.5.
The carbon steel body is ideal for systems requiring extra strength and safety, such as petroleum or certain hazarduous chemicals.
Perforated 304 stainless steel screens are welded along the seam for maximum strength. Different size perforations and meshes are available in stainless steel, monel, and brass to meet specific media requirements. If the media is not specified, screens for water will be supplied. All strainers are supplied with plugged NPT threaded drain connections. Options include epoxy coating and galvanizing, special flange drilling, and the addition of magnets.
Non-Shock Working Pressure for the 150# class for steam is 150psi at 565F, and 285psi at 100F for water, oil, and gas (WOG). The 300# class for steam is rated for 300psi at 838F, and 740psi at 100F for water, oil, and gas (WOG).
Cleaning of the strainer is accomplished by removing the cover and pulling out the basket, and a bolted top cover flange is provided for ease in basket removal. The high pressure/temperature gasket between the body and cover is spiral wound 304 stainless steel. The BCF strainers have carbon steel hex head cap screws and come with a tapped and plugged NPT drain connnection.
