BIFD1/2 IRON BASKET STRAINERS

The Model BIFD is a made-in-the-USA iron basket strainer can be used in applications for water, oil, gas or steam where protection from foreign matter in a pipeline is required.

It is constructed from cast iron castings that have drilled 125# flanges for the BIFD1 and 250# for the BIFD2 that are in accordance with ASME B16.5.  Perforated 304 stainless steel screens are welded along the seam for maximum strength.   Different size perforations and meshes are available in stainless steel, monel, and brass to meet specific media requirements.  If the media is not specified, screens for water will be supplied.  All strainers are supplied with plugged NPT threaded drain connections.  Options include epoxy coating and galvanizing, special flange drilling, and the addition of magnets.

Non-Shock Working Pressure is for BIFD1 125psi at 450F for steam, and 200psi at 150F for Water/Oil/Gas (WOG).  For the BIFD2 it is 250psi at 450F for steam, and 500psi at 150F for WOG.

Meets or exceed government specification WW-S-2739 (Supersedes MIL-S-16293).

Cleaning of the strainer is accomplished by removing the cover and pulling out the basket.  Also available with a clamp top cover in the BIFCD Model.  See the maintenance instructions for more detailed information on servicing the strainer, and the submittal sheet for addtional technical data.
