The Model BSF is a 316 stainless steel basket strainer can be used in applications for chemicals, oil or gas where protection from foreign matter in a pipeline is required. The BSF1 is 150# class, and the BSF2 is 300# class. They are constructed with drilled raisied face flanges that are in accordance with ASME B16.5.
The stainless steel body is ideal for chemicals that may be corrosive to iron or carbon steel. And they are also needed for sanitary or food service.
Perforated 304 stainless steel screens are welded along the seam for maximum strength. Different size perforations and meshes are available in stainless steel, monel, and brass to meet specific media requirements. If the media is not specified, screens for water will be supplied. All strainers are supplied with plugged NPT threaded drain connections. Options include epoxy coating and galvanizing, special flange drilling, and the addition of magnets.
Non-Shock Working Pressure for the 150# class for steam is 150psi at 565F, and 275psi at 100F for water, oil, and gas (WOG). The 300# class for steam is rated for 300psi at 1125F, and 720psi at 100F for water, oil, and gas (WOG).
Cleaning of the strainer is accomplished by removing the cover and pulling out the basket, and a bolted top cover flange is provided for ease in basket removal. The high pressure/temperature gasket between the body and cover is spiral wound 304 stainless steel. The BSF strainers have stainless steel hex head cap screws and come with a tapped and plugged NPT drain connnection.
